Case Study

This case study is an analysis of Mr. Steve Jobs’ (CEO of Apple) presentation skills. The videos analyzed for this case study are parts of the Macworld 2008 - Steve Jobs Keynote presentation. Although, the whole presentation was about 90 minutes long I have used parts 1, 6 and 8, of the 90 minutes presentation and I will be analyzing key moments that attracted me from the parts mentioned above.

Steve Jobs is considered one of the greatest corporate storytellers on the stage. His presentation informs, educates, and entertains the audience. I have observed some key points in his presentations which inspires the audience to believe in his products or ideas and at the same time keeps them entertained. The key points are: an attractive headline, simple slides, and interesting demos.

The presentation links mentioned above are informative presentations by Mr. Steve Jobs, that introduces Apple’s new products and software upgrades. Mr. Jobs starts the presentation with a humorous video where the supposed villain PC and hero Mac are shown; this sets the tone for the presentation and gives an attractive introduction to the presentation. Further, he starts the presentation by introducing a tag line, “There is clearly something in the Air” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOKGKsdY-VI). This tag line introduces the new “MacBook Air”. While introducing the product he presents a slide which says “Worlds thinnest notebook”, which attracts and interests the audience and the customers to buy the product.
