TAKE ACTION OF COAL IN AMERICA
Coal is a fossil fuel and is the largest source of energy for generations of electricity worldwide. Coal produces the most carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the United States. Coal is dirty and it is said to be enemy number one to our health and environment. Coal is a greenhouse gas which causes a lot of issues for our health and environment when in combustion (burning).
Coal is accounted for at least 50% of the United States electricity. This greenhouse effect is a moral issue that needs to be addressed to the American Society. Society does not have a clue on how this greenhouse gas is affecting us and our environment. We need to stand up for this issue because if we do not take action now it will never be resolved for us and our future. Anytime when coal is in combustion this creates large amounts of carbon dioxide being emission into our bodies and environments. For example, Los Angeles, Ca has large amounts of smog every morning and where do think that may come from? The Government does have ways for a resolution to help clear up this matter but there is not a big payoff for them.
From an internet video, the website www.coal-is-dirty.com/video/coal-and-global-warming David Novack has an excerpt from his great new documentary “Burning the Future: Coal in America”. In this video it talks about how cleaning coal can be done but it will not resolve the issues of getting rid of carbon dioxide in our environment. This video also states that coal can be very harmful to our kid’s, grandchildren, and their kids and so on.
As of today we cannot stop completely using this fossil fuel because it is being used in our daily lives every day. The major dilemmas with the combustion of coal are how it affects our health and environment. As mentioned in previous paragraphs that coal is the top producing fossil fuel that emits large amounts of carbon dioxide. There is a way to reduce these levels. According to www.coaleducation.org...
