There are a lot of things quite correctly said. It is indeed our disrespect for our country and the law that makes us a poor country. The most popular word circulating in all our newspapers today - CORRUPTION. Corruption starts from a small thing such as a bribe paid to a cop in order to get a lesser fine. Only a handful of people actually pay the fine and get a pavti from the cop when he has broken a traffic rule. "Rules are meant to be broken" - fancy statement, but only applicable for benefitting one's life or workplace.
