The only theory that I have ever tested is when my daughter was first born, just like any new mom, I was intent on purchasing name brand diapers like huggies or pampers, wanting nothing but the best for my daughter. I learned as my daughter grew and got bigger, fewer diapers came in the pack. Even the most expensive brands would leak or blow out, leaving a huge nasty mess. I began experimenting with store brand diapers. I had to go through many different types of diapers to test. A lot of them would leak and the sticky tabs would rip very easily when I was trying to put the diaper on my daughter. Some caused my daughter to have a bad diaper rash. The biggest part of the test was which diaper held up during bed time. Extra wetness accumulates in the diaper, and, if it can’t hold up to the extra moisture, it will spill out onto the baby’s skin, clothes and sheets. It was really difficult trying to figure out which diaper was the best for my daughter. I found that Wal-Mart brand or Dollar General brand diapers worked the best for less the price for my daughter. Those two brands work just as well as the name brand diapers if not better in my opinion. The lesson I learned from this experiment was that sometimes that the more something is does not mean the better it is. I have learned that cheaper is sometimes better. Also by doing this experiment I was better prepared when I had my son.

I think the type of informal research method I used was experimental. I changed the different types of diapers to see which ones was the most effective and which ones were not. I don’t think that I would change anything in the experiment that I did if I could.
