✓ Calls should be answered within the shortest period of time, so as not to irritate the client

✓ A clear and audible voice should be used when addressing the client

✓ Questions must be answered clearly and we must all be able to handle client queries without the need to transfer the call to someone else. The need to explain the situation once again to the client often leaves the client frustrated

✓ Each call must be handled with utmost importance, every incoming call is an opportunity to make a customer, a call to place an order from an existing client is an opportunity to enquire if they are experiencing any problems with the application of the product etc. It is also an opportunity to cross sell the various products. It is better to make maximum use of an incoming call, than it is to make a sales call in my opinion as that would be generating an expense

Developing leads & Building Relationships

Mailing Lists: Email, Fax and Snail Mail

✓ Send out bulk emails, fax or mail to shopping malls, large organizations with large parking areas, contractors and other organizations within the organization. Ensure that these people / organizations are comprised of our target market, so as not to create a negative impression of the company by sending to the wrong market. It makes the organization seem unprofessional.

Co-Registration Services

✓ Once the target market has been identified, these are the key to increasing sales. Co-registration services offer another platform of increasing sales.

From what I have read, the way these work is that you provide a brief description of your business, and the co-registration service then distributes your “mini ad” on their web sites so people can opt in to our newsletter. You pay for leads when someone signs up and you are provided with the contact information. Some services let you target your market by country.
