1. INTRODUCTION:
1.1 Objective of the project:
Our chosen company is "Banyan Tree Spa and Resort, Al Areen". The main purpose of doing this project is to choose a company/organization operating in Bahrain and apply the concepts, ideas, and notions of the strategic management course to the chosen company. We will be applying our theoretical knowledge to the practical real world. Throughout this project we will:
• Look into the Banyan Tree's mission and vision statements;
• Identify and explore their goals and objectives
(Financial and strategic);
• Shed light on their overall strategy and their strategy-making process;
• Evaluate their strategy;
• Look into and study the Banyan Tree's future plans.
1.2 Reason for choosing Banyan Tree:
Banyan Tree Spa and Resort, Al Areen was inaugurated in April 2007 in the Sakheer area (desert) of the Kingdom of Bahrain. "It is the only all-villa, private pool resort in the Arabian Gulf and one of the Middle East’s most luxurious hideaways." The most interesting fact about Banyan Tree Bahrain is that it is an oasis of sensuality in the middle of the desert. This fact was the main driver that caused us to choose Banyan Tree for our project. It is a new company and a new idea in Bahrain. We want to be acquainted with its outlook for the future and success, reasons for choosing such an intriguing location, and how it is going to be in line with the other successful and news-making headlines subsidiaries.
