Honest Tea Case analysis

1)The advantage Honest Tea has over its competitors is that it is the only bottled tea company whose products are all 100 percent USDA organic certified. Honest Teas found weaknesses in other companies and capitalized of that, by differentiating themselves from competitors by using whole leaf tea, rather then the residue from leaf packaging. Being mindful and health conscious consumers Honest Teas uses up to two-thirds less sugar in its teas compared to its competitors such as Snapple or Arizona.

The competitive advantage of there products over “Honest Tea” can be the specified the other companies, ranging from better advertisement, better pricing of a product, location can be a major role in competitive strategy over any company. Comparable brands to “HT” my be 25 to 50 cents less per bottle, but do not offer the same health benefits.

3) As a consumer the competitive advantage I believe is important to the Honest Tea would be the health benefit you are getting for there product. With similar brands you getting more calories and sugar, were as Honest Tea uses two- thirds less in sugar, and still produces great taste, the brand is keeping up on quality, with a healthy benefit.

4) If I was Seth’s business advisor, the competitive advantages I would encourage him to develop would be to implement a greater advertising strategy, and getting the consumer what they need, and want the most. Starting an advertising battle with competitors and advancing in areas where they lack.

5) What does it mean for a company to engage in “social responsible business practices?” In essence I believe that companies engaging in these sorts of activities do it to show appreciation, for the raw materials and necessities their receiving from the less fortunate and poverty countries that we get supplies from. Giving back an offering for those in need and less auspicious....
