ABTRACT

“The measure of the economic cost, or opportunity cost, of any resource used to produce a good is the value or worth the resource would have in its best alternative use,” according to McConnell and Brue. In my opinion, managers are responsible to do their best to achieve the best interest of company’s owners to make the best use of the company’s resources such as human, financial and capital. Nevertheless, managers should keep in their minds the ethics of the organization and the legal boundaries. Sometimes, they might try to win at costs just to keep the momentum of the company. This most probably will reflect on the long term run for the company on benefits.

INTRODUCTION

CelluClear Wireless is a well-known manufacturer of cell phones in the United States. As each organization has their own values and ethics for trading, CelluClear also has three main values includes in the following:

1) Keep our employees working.

2) Provide our customers with products on time that reliably meet or exceed their expectations.

3) Treat our business partners the same as we want to be treated.

Kendra Sherman, a Business Development Specialist at CelluClear Wireless has a great opportunity to sign a significant contract of business with the Big Box chain in Canada. Kendra Sherman was eager to close this deal. She was just waiting to meet the production manager at CelluClear, Lars Norman, who is truly trying his best to maximize using the plant of the manufacture. Running the plant on the maximum capacity was one of the main challenges in the current period of time without missing the best interest of CelluClear economically and maintaining the same terms of client relations.
