Introduction:

Down-Home Builders Ltd. that was started in 1970 is a family owned business that is gradually losing its reputation for its quality services and also suffering losses. Owing to the various problems, the customer complaints are on the rise just as the suppliers dissatisfaction. Its endeavour to take on greater jobs around Oxford, too, seem futile. Hence, immediate actions must be taken to foil any further damage, and to rectify all potential mistakes so as to grow Down Home Builders Ltd and surpass its reputation of the past for its quality services. In order for this to happen Down Home Builders must immediately seek changes and/or adjustments in its overall business strategy including such as marketing, human resources, finance and operations. The report aims to look at each of the topics separately, independently delving into their problem and recommending a solution for each of them.

Marketing:

Marketing is a phenomenon by which organizations seek to understand the consumer needs, to create a value for consumer that is sellable and finally build a strong customer rapport through the exchange of values from one to another according to Kotler, 2008Marketing is indubitably an integral part of business as it aids to increase the overall efficiency of business. Boddy (2008) defnies marketing as a management procedure which recognizes, expects and delivers the consumer needs and desires effectively and efficiently. The main concern of marketing is to deliver the right goods and services to the right consumer. The four main tools of marketing, together called the marketing mix, are product, price, place and promotion.

The deliverance of decreasing quality of Down Home Builders is causing a loss of their reputation, which in turn is taking away their sales and sales revenue. Besides they are not being able to take the contracts in Oxford that they are vying for.
