Miller’s New Culture

When SAB acquired Miller Brewing Company (MBC), we took possession of a company that had grown stagnant after years of executive turnover, product failures and declining sales. Under Mr. Adami’s leadership, MBC has transitioned back to its roots - a culture focused on values such as passion, innovation and quality. This cultural transformation, under Mr. Adami’s leadership, is breaking down hierarchical communication barriers, revamping the employee performance system and building a passionate workforce.

-Breaking Down Hierarchical Barriers of Communication. Fred’s Pub creates a platform that diffuses authority within the company to spread responsibility for continued success to our entire workforce. The individual employee contributions and suggestions are treated with the same respect that a senior level executive would generally receive. As such, employees generate a true sense of empowerment. Communications channels have also been opened and strengthened between our senior executives and our wholesalers and distributors in order to get a better of sense of market trends and improve market research.

-Revamping the Employee Performance System. Our new performance system increases accountability and rewards employees for improving performance and quality. Accurately assessing our workforce through qualitative and quantitative methods has created a fair evaluation system.

-Building a Passionate Workforce. The MBC wants employees to be passionate about their job: Beer! Beer University teaches employees about MBC and its brewing history. This one day course serves to educate MBC employees and build excitement over the company’s products. This newly instilled passion has created a competitive attitude among our employee base and they are no longer satisfied being number two to Anheuser-Busch (AB).
