1. This question asks you to list two strategies – use Chapter 1, pages 15-16 in which seven strategies are listed. Do not simply list two strategies; you must explain how Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams used the strategies you picked to develop and improve thinking.

2. When identifying the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking, think about what a foundation means. If your house is built on sticks instead of concrete slabs, is your house stable? Or will it fall apart? Use the same approach to answer this question, referring to the 10 issues outlined in Chapter 2, one of which is Dealing with Dilemmas.

3. Page 42 lists four ethical perspectives when explaining the basis of moral judgments used by individuals. Describe how these perspectives affected the judgments made by Samuel Adams and Thomas Hutchinson.

4. Page 53-54 lists three steps one can follow to achieve individuality. Identify which steps (if not all) Samuel Adams and Thomas Hutchinson took when becoming individuals that led them to be historical figures.

5. There are six habits that hinder thinking and they are described beginning on page 54. Identify the habits you feel Samuel Adams and Thomas Hutchinson utilized. Be sure to also identify how they could have overcome those particular habits.

6. Distinctions are addressed on pages 69-73. You must discuss one of these distinctions to fully answer this question.
