INTRODUCTION
Ethics is basically a philosophy which tells us what is morally right or wrong in the behavior of people. Ethics and morality are terms that are often used interchangeably in consideration of good and bad. The term ‘Ethics’ is usually applied to persons (ethics comes from the Greek ‘ethos’, meaning character) – and ‘morality’ to acts and behavior (moral comes from the Latin moralis, meaning customs or manners).
Now the question is how does HR play its role in conducting ethical behavior in the Organization?
The power of any business is heavily dependent on excellence of its human resource. And how its employees are treated will largely verify the extent to which they are going to perform in the organization. Therefore, HR professionals must manage employees’ ethical behavior, in order to build an organizational culture to support and encourage ethical conduct.
The HR department is on the whole important collaborator in its effort to support ethical conduct. Whatever the role HR managers’ play, they have to deal with many situations, in which they can make sure and promote the ethics. Just like, HR professionals, who are recruiters, decide who are invited to join their team. They set reward and punishment systems to strengthen appropriate behavior.
