Case Study #1: McDonalds’s “Seniors” Restaurant

McDonald’s restaurant is in a location with many “seniors.” Seniors are coming in for breakfast at around 10am and staying till about 3pm. Monthly breakfast special for senior citizens aged 55 and older. For the breakfast special McDonald’s is pulling in anywhere from 100-150 people, and charging them $1.99 for a breakfast meal. Apparently the seniors are staying for around 4 hours, and I don’t see how this can hurt a business. Quinn’s way of business is kind of unusual for McDonald’s, yet I think it’s effective. Quinn started building a personal relationship with her customers, using first names, and visiting them outside of the work place. Quinn is living up to the McDonald’s corporate philosophy; to be friendly with its customers and to give back to the communities it serves. Another main point that you have to take into consideration is the kind of people you are dealing with. These people are quiet, friendly, slow, and do an excellent job of cleaning up after. I do believe that the managers and people that help run the restaurant have the largest influence whether the customers feel comfortable to stay for longer periods or not. I believe that Quinn should encourage senior citizen to come in, or at least remain doing the same as she has been.

Now this whole Bingo idea could either make or break the restaurants business. I think that if we try and change...
