Consumer behavior is defined as "a discipline dealing with how and why consumers purchase (or don't purchase) products and services.” Consumer behavior considers all of the factors that play a role in people's buying decisions. These decisions include what a person chooses to buy, where they choose to buy it, what actions they take as they buy it, what they consider as they buy it, and why they choose not to buy it. Today as always, business growth depends heavily on loyal customers who return because they are satisfied with the product and/or service they have received. But first, companies have to bring consumers into the stores. And so, in this paper, we will talk about the behaviors of customers and consumers towards the products of one particular establishment. What products do they choose to buy? Do they buy these products right away? Why do they choose this particular establishment among others? And what type or kind of market segmentation do they belong? These are some of the questions we are to answer and it’s basically describing and putting thoughts about the consumers’ behavior towards the products of one particular establishment.

April 19, 2011 marks the day we started on observing consumers’ behavior towards certain products that catches their interests. Southway Square’s is the establishment we chose to observe and analyze its consumers. A lot of people are hooked up in this particular establishment because of its grocery products with cheaper prices, varieties or diversified products available, and not to mention its nearness from the paradahan of jeepneys.

Southway Square’s grocery items are not way too cheaper than other establishment’s grocery items. It’s only seems to be 50 cents to 2 pesos difference. But, 50 cents to 2 pesos difference in prices is way valuable or important to consumers, especially among Filipinos. It is already accepted that Filipinos are known to be kuripot.
