InterClean is a major player in the $8 billion dollar institutional and industrial cleaning and sanitation industry. As a mid-level manager of this organization recently I have sent out memorandums explaining our company’s merger with our competitor EnviroTech and managements’ expectations as the merge occurs. InterClean has merged with EnviroTech and, as a result, has taken on a new strategic direction.

Currently, the sales team has excelled in the selling of products and demonstration. However, under this new service-solutions model the company will no longer solely sell products, but will also provide full-service cleaning solutions for organizations in the health care industry. These new representatives with be fully trained and grouped together in multi-functional teams that will provide a high quality service to InterClean’s clientele.

These new teams will be trained to work directly with their team leader, managers, health care professionals, operational executives, and other clientele. The team and company’s success will be now based not only on the products sold, but also creating full-service cleaning solutions individualized for clients from the health care industry domestic and international.

Organizations in the health care field must follow strict laws and guidelines to maintain a healthy and sterile facility. These clients want to streamline their own cleaning processes while following the more stringent environmental safety requirements. What this means for the newly merged InterClean is that our sales staff will have to be educated, trained, and resourceful in the ever changing needs of our clients and their environments.
