What three problems might an organization have with the issue of employee retention?  Explain why they could be problems.

Employers should become more aware of the costs of actually loosing employees, how it affects a company’s profits, and how a reduction in turnover costs can significantly lessen the financial impact on a company’s bottom line results. Employee retention is the way employers attempt to retain employees in their workforce. Employer’s goals are to decrease employee turnover, training costs, and loss of talent. Companies are being forced to study why employees leave and why they stay. Three problems an organization may have with the issue of employee retention are culture and values, management and retention and job security. Culture and values could potentially be a problem because this provides the employees with meaning and rules for behavior. If an organizational culture is not shared throughout, the workforce that could pose a problem for an organization that is trying to attempt to retain employees in their workforce because the employees who disagree with the values and culture of the company may leave the company.

Management is another problem an organization may face. If the manager is not effective in how they interact with the employees and effective in their leadership skills then this could pose a problem. If the management of an organization has no leadership skills then this not only could lead to employees leaving the company but also to the company not being profitable. IF the management does not establish clear goals and employees do not understand what is expected of them then they may feel the working environment is frustrating and leave the company. An organization could face several problems when the management is not effective.
