Executive Summary

This assignment was given to the students by the respectable and honorable teacher “Dr. Yasin”. The assignment is based on the academic subject “Leadership”. In the assignment our teacher had asked us to find out a leader and discuss about his achievements and the objectives. The leader which has been selected by me is Mahathir Mohamad. Mahathir Mohamad was born in July 1925. He was a medical doctor and was elected as the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia. He remained Prime Minister for 22 years. He changed the Malaysian education system, gave 2020 vision, and converted Malaysia from agricultural country to an industrialized country. He also modernized the Malaysian economy and resolved ethnic group conflicts. In 2003 he gave resignation as Prime Minister of Malaysia. It was because of his efforts and achievements that Malaysia became politically and economically a stable state or country. All these achievements of Mahathir Mohamad have been discussed with explanation in the assignment. In the completion of this assignment, my respected teacher “Dr. Yasin” helped me a lot and guided me really well. I thank him a lot for his kindness and motivation that he gave me to complete the assignment.

Introduction

The importance of effective leadership cannot be neglected. Effective leadership was not only essential in the past but also most developing and under developed countries in Asia and Africa need good leaders at present time in order to be successful politically and economically.

This assignment is based on the academic subject “Leadership”. The main objective of this assignment is to select a leader and discuss his objectives and achievements which may have affected some country or area either positively or negatively. If we see in the past so we will be able to know that there were many great leaders in the past such as Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mahathir Mohamad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mao Zedong, and present leaders of Republic of China.
