Management Planning of Boeing Corporation
When looking at the management of a large Corporation such as Boeing, the planning aspect is very important. If a large corporation does not plan how its management is set up than the success of that corporation is less likely. This paper will look at how legal issues, ethics, and corporate social responsibility has on Boeing. I will also look at the company's strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning. Management planning is essential for the success of Boeing.
Evaluate the planning function of management
The idea behind the planning aspect of management is the setting of goals and objectives of the corporation. This plan consists of tasks and activities to accomplish the organization's goals. This plan will take into consideration different variables and occurrences that are unexpected. Planning will take into account unexpected problems that could occur. When looking at Boeing's management planning is necessary to ensure the continued success of such a large corporation. Boeing must always be looking toward the future to ensure the success of the company. With all of the different departments Boeing must come up for deadlines of its goals for it product development, engineering, sales, and other departments. If one department does not meet its goals this could setback the goals of the other departments. When considering the direction that Boeing would take in the future, Boeing took into account the market analysis and what customers wanted. They went with "technologies on a super-efficient, mid-sized airplane," (Global Security.org, 2011, para. 2). Going with this particular design shows how Boeing is planning for the future of its organization.
