Introduction

The early part of the decade brought a multitude of scandals involving CEO's of big corporations behaving unethically, causing the corporations to crumble. How is it that unethical behavior can reach the very top of the hierarchical chain of command, and continue to go undetected for long periods? Surely as long as CEO’s have been in existence there’s been corruption. What there not much of was the stressing of ethical behavior in the workplace or schooling curriculum. The amount of high level employees, investors being robbed and failed corporations brought the intense scrutiny on ethical behavior. The topic of this research paper is Personality and Emotions and it will cover the several different types of personalities that people bring into the job workplace and how their emotions explain and predict their behavior. This research paper will describe the eight categories in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, identify the “Big Five” personality variables and their relationship to behavior in organizations, describe the impact of job typology on the personality/job performance relationship, differentiate felt from displayed emotions, identify the six universal emotions, and describe ways in which emotions influence work related behavior.

Personality

Everyone is classified by their personality traits whether one is loud or quiet and so forth. There are many different types of personalities and your attitude, body language, and tone of your voice all play into how you are categorized.
