The Truth about Global Warming

To understand the Truth about Global Warming we must first understand what it is. Simply put, Global Warming is an increase in the world’s temperatures. Scientists believe the increase in temperature is a result of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, primarily by air pollution. Climate change is possible because of the mix of the various gases that make up the earth’s atmosphere changing over long periods of time. Global Warming causes sea levels to rises which increases population in flood vulnerable zones, crop productivity is expected to fall, and increased medical and social issues as a result of people’s failure to adapt t climate change. There have been many ideas tossed around about how to reduce global warming emissions. Some people believe that it starts with individual efforts; each person on the planet should make a change for the better and do their part. Yes, individual efforts are important bit the biggest impact will come from large scale changes. To build a sustainable future, efforts to reduce polluting fossil fuel energy sources and harmful land practices need to be put into place. We also need to continue to work towards going green.

Individual solutions for global warming are important to reduce pollutions. Individuals should consider making life long changes to help in the fight. For example, when purchasing a new car, one should make the decision based on which car has the best fuel economy. Each gallon of gas used is responsible for 25pounds of gases being released into the atmosphere. Buying Energy Star appliances can also help reduce pollution. Household energy savings are great when using these appliances. Something as simple as planting a tree will help our environment heal from the years of pollution. Trees store carbon and also offer shade in higher temperature that help reduce energy bills and fossil fuel use.

Renewable Energy Sources is probably one of the most important...
