The term “global village” is frequently applied as a symbol to depict the World Wide Web (www) and the internet. The Internet permits the consumers from all around the world to communicate and connect with each other. In the same way, the computers which are connected through the web, makes it possible for the people to connect their web sites and communicate through it. In 1948 the term Global village was used in a book America and Cosmic Man written by P. Wyndham Lewis. Later on in 1962 Hebert Marshall McLuhan also wrote a book The Gutenberg Galaxy: The making of Typographic Man in which he used the term Global village. In his book he stated that the TV in addition to other latest telecommunications technologies is changing the world into a Global village. According to Marshall McLuhan "The new electronic interdependence recreates the world in the image of a global village" (Saffo). The Global Village is in fact a past era and not a place.

The world is really becoming a Global village, the TV and other means of media helps in exchanging suggestions all through the world, but the ideas are similar and they are being disseminated all through the earth and because of that, consistency is imposed. This consistency is an important aspect in “the global village” because of the fact that a society is made up of citizens who are alike. That is one of the bases that the development in the direction of the global consistency provides weight to the assumption that the people in the world are amalgamating in side a single village or area. The TV and other telecommunication devices facilitates in offering everybody with the similar information because of the reason that not a single person or a group of people are unable to get knowledge.
