Where is the justice in this town, peace, love and kindness to one another? Why

is there so many negro haters in Maycomb. Why does one need to be killed innocently

for being hated? This is not needed in Maycomb; it would just bring shame to Maycomb.

Two weeks ago, Maycomb witnessed a tragic event. Tom Robinson was confined

for rapping Mayella Ewell. Although Tom Robinson, was the clearly not guilty proven by

Tom Robinson’s lawyer Atticus Finch. The jury’s did not presume so resulted in Mayella

to be Victorious. Tom was sentenced to life at a prison far from Maycomb. Yesterday,

Tom thought that there was no way he could get out of the prison due to his life

sentence. So Tom decided to escape with one hand. Tom was shot 17 Times before he

could escape the confinement. Tom’s death is unreasonable, How do people feel when

they know that killed someone innocent. This is not acceptable why the society is so

corrupt even inside the court room where the place is so serious that juries and judges

still have to judge who’s guilty and who isn’t by race or skin colour. People don’t have a

sense of what’s right and wrong in this society. If everyone was like that doing their own

selfish things how will Maycomb turn out to be? If Tom Robinson wasn’t a Negro and

was white the results of the case would be different. Mayella would be the one being

guilty and not Tom Robinson or the case wouldn’t have started because of Bob Ewell’s

hatred against Negros. Sentencing Tom Robinson for rape is basically killing a mocking

bird.

Tom Robinson didn’t do anything to Mayella. Tom was just trying to help Mayella

because he had compassion for her since she was a girl. No man should have suffered

what Tom faced when trying to escape; the reason why the guards at the prison shot 17

times at him was to kill him. They hated Negros that much that they wanted to kill them.

They could have just shot him to wound him. But instead they shot to kill.
