The three dimensions to business problems are the organizational dimension, technology and people dimensions. These are three key things to know, and make sure you are performing right on when running a business. An example of an organizational dimension is when someone needs to find some information on your server, and they need it to be as up to date as possible, but they can’t find it. An example of a technology dimension is when you get a word document from somebody, but you cannot open it because you are currently running an older version of Microsoft word, and that is not compatible with the file format you have to have in order to open that document. An example of the people dimension is when you are running a help desk business, and your staff is not completely fulfilling the customers wants, and problems like they want, which would be lack of proper training with your staff.

The difference between IT and Information System is that IT stands for Information Technology, and that is basically the software part. Information systems are the hardware itself. The IT part of it is the brains of the whole operation, even though you cannot run anything without the computer and what not. But, they go hand in hand with each other, and one cannot work without the other. Really, it is both hardware and software, but it is more complicated than that. Some functions of the information system is to make sure people are able to provide their products to their customers. Also, it is used to be able to give people the type of information they need at a moment’s notice. There are 3 different roles in the information system, and they are its people, organization, and technology. They all go hand in hand with each other because without people running the systems and making sure they are working properly, than there just would not be computers, or any of that good stuff.
