Coaching Experience:

* Asst Coach for Senior K Texas 2010. Responsible for Offensive Line and their Development, Film breakdown of play, Running Offensive/Defensive drills in practice and pre-game warm-up.

* Flag Football Coach for 4 seasons – one 1st Grade level, two at the 3rd Grade level and one at the 5th grade level.

* Wrestling Coach for two seasons. Never wrestled in my life but learned by DVD and working with the kids.

* Over 17 seasons of coaching baseball from the 5U level through 11AA in Carlsbad Youth Baseball Assoc., SKSA and TFL.

* YMCA Coach for Pee-Wee Sports (Basketball, Floor Hockey, Soccer).

Coaching Philosophy:

This is the first time I have been asked describe my coaching philosophy, but I agree with this request 100% because it made me dig deep to come up with my beliefs.

I believe that kids are playing sports to have fun, but if they only wanted to have fun they would play football in the streets or playgrounds. They are on an organized team to learn and improve their skills. However, it is the coach’s responsibility to provide the material in a way that the kids can best retain. The one thing I have learned through working with kids is that, first and foremost kids like to be entertained. Therefore, I try to run my practices in a way that will keep the kids interested, and teach them along the way. I am a firm believer that a kid will learn as much as a coach is willing to teach. It is my experience that kids need and respond positive to organization and structure and if a coach expects a player to come prepared, he must be prepared as well. If a kid is willing to put the effort in he will do fine on my team. Mistakes happen; the kids will make them; I will make them. But the one thing that I cannot tolerate is lack of effort. Not every player can play any position, I am a firm believer in playing kids in positions that they will play in the future and in positions that they are ready for....
