Chapter 7 - Conclusion
7.1 Contribution
Under the today’s intensive competitive business environment and globalization challenging, organization are compulsorily implementing ERP systems to achieve a capability to plan and integrate enterprise-wide resources in order to shorten lead times, reduce operational cost and to be more responsive to customer demands. This research is to review the ERP literature and identify the ERP process how to affect the cost Effectiveness and operation Effectiveness. From the Literature review, most of the articles stressed that ERP systems could various important benefits the ERP systems bring to organizations. From the questionnaire responded, ERP system could integrates the majority of the business processes and allows access to the data in real time. Furthermore, ERP improves the performance level of a supply chain by helping to reduce cycle times. There are also some intangible benefits that an organization may enjoy by implementing an ERP system including, better customer satisfaction, improved vendor performance, increased flexibility, reduced quality costs, improved resource utility, improved information accuracy and improved decision-making capability.
Despite the fact that ERP can optimize the operations and reduce the operations cost across the entire organization’s supply chain, the combinations of factors and the ERP implementation processes have to be considered in order to be success by using ERP system, such as management support, business plan and vision, careful package selection process, teamwork and education training. From the case study which precisely illustrated the important of these factors and the ERP implementation processes.
7.2 Limitation
Although the research delivered valid conclusions and findings, there are several limitations associated with data collection and analysis. The main limitations are as follows:
• The response rate was 30% which can mislead the results in the other way....
