The National Institutes of Health also known as NIH is very supportive of the community, they not only encourages involvement from the community, but they also depend on the involvement of the community. With the help of many other organizations they are constantly working to increase awareness on HIV, sleep deprivation, and many other illnesses. The National Institutes of health has many outreach programs dedicated to the public as well as educational programs available for all who are interested. They offer summer internships for high school student as well as college students looking to gain knowledge and an understanding. They also have other programs for graduates and medical students looking to further there education. They host many nationwide events requesting the publics input on current NIH projects. Plus NIH has many special programs specifically designed to involve public representatives in clinical research.

NIH also has the largest medical library holding more than six million items with free access to the public. In 2011 they received the MLA green project of the year award in which case they developed different ways to reduce damage to the environment. They are known for applying green principles to all construction projects. The National Institute of Health has a many support groups available for patients, families, friends and caregivers needing inspiration and support. They are constantly running different tests to make improvements and increase the publics awareness on different clinical studies. As you can see The National Institute of Health is a great company that continues to bring science and health to all who are interested. They work directly with the press on a regular basis making sure the receive accurate information so that the public will be informed and have an understanding.
