Perfection. Let’s take a look from the dictionary what it means. “Blamelessness”, ” being complete”, “whole”. But, you know what? That meaning is just on the one side of a coin, or Filipinos would say it, on the “heads” of the coin. Have you ever tried to look on the “tails” side of the coin? In life, there is always 2 sides of a coin: the “heads” and the “tails”. It gives you more choices in life. It can even help you solve problems to which you think that it is impossible to solve.

When you say perfection, the first thing that normally comes in our minds is about being perfect; we can’t deny it. But, when you define it in other way, it can be defined as “being holy”, being set apart for God”, etc. Confusing? Yes. Why? It’s because we often look on the one side of life; we often overlook on how those “things” can really affect us. For example, in school, we sometimes (or often) get lazy to do those assignments that our teachers want us to do, so we ask our classmates to do it for us (don’t deny it, even I do it sometimes). In this situation, we chose to be on the bright side, where we are comfortable. But, we didn’t think how it can affect; we didn’t think that we might be caught by our teacher. That’s concentrating on the one side of life.

So, let’s go back to “perfection”. Being perfect is being set apart for God, being holy. God knows that we can’t be perfect, so He gave perfection another definition for us to be perfect. Of course, it depends on us to decide if we want to be perfect or not, because He gave us free will to make decisions. In the road of life, we will always encounter an intersection where we must stop and ask directions from God to what way we must take. But, don’t forget that He will just give you directions and you will do the rest; if you will follow those directions or not. Also, let’s face the fact that we can’t travel with heavy loads. Those loads are the problems we face in our lives. We must first let God to take our loads then...
