The LSI-2 is a description of the behaviors a person portrays through their interactions in differing situations.
TOMAY:
100% Aggressive Defensive: reflects self-promoting thinking and behavior used to maintain status/ position and fulfill security needs through task-related activities
SLIDE 2: Proof
8 o’clock POWER: Develops plans autocratically; Well defined hierarchical structure; Needs to dominate over staff at all times
NOT ON SIDE: About two months after arrival she took staff out for dinner “implementing a new policy” did not consult any staff members prior to meeting- develops plans autocratically
9 o’clock COMPETITIVE: Accepts limited staff input; Gives “pep talks” vague in providing direction; delegates responsibility but maintains authority over staff
NOT ON SIDE: Pulled service manager into office, told him that the staff area was moving and that the number of staff staying needed to be cut down. He objected. She said I want a list of who is staying by tomorrow.
10 o’clock PERFECTIONISTIC: Allows no room for ownership by others; inflexible detailed organizational structure;
Example: Expects compliance and passivity from staff: “We are implementing a new policy…yes, fine but if anyone votes no I will accept their resignation”

Passive/ Defensive: represent self-protecting thinking and behavior that promote the fulfillment of security needs through interaction with people.
5 o’clock DEPENDENT: resists planning unless considerable pressure is applied; assumes a passive role
6 o’clock AVOIDANCE: tends to avoid planning; shifts responsibility
Example: When approached about day-to-day operations he said he was unsure about them since he relied on his Executive Chef and Assistant General Manager
