1.       Using the critical thinking skills you have gained and the materials provided for this assignment, identify two possible strategies that Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams, or both, likely used to develop and improve his thinking prior to taking a stand and acting according to his beliefs.

When Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams were faced with the frustration on the issues which led up to the Boston Tea Party, they are likely to have used critical thinking strategies to develop and improve their thinking. One strategy they are likely to have used would be, to maintain a critical attitude throughout the problem solving. Maintaining a critical attitude is crucial because improving your thinking depends on the habits and attitudes. Problem solving includes careful observation, interpretation, evaluation, and much more that would be difficult if distracted by emotions. Second they may have used summarization as a critical thinking strategy. Summarizing is used to help the person visualize the key elements. I believe that Samuel Adams may have employed the analytical process before taking a stand. I think that he thoroughly assessed both sides of the issue and all of the consequences of each action before deciding what he would do, this ultimately being a course of action
