Human Papillomavirus

David J Hutchinson and Kristin C Klein wrote a journal article about the Human Papillomavirus. They both have an extensive background in pharmacy. Human papillomavirus is the most common sexually transmitted disease. There are two types of vaccines, quadrivalent and bivalent. Both of the vaccines are to prevent women from getting HPV 6, 11, 16, and 18. Bivalent prevent all of these as long as they are not associated with genital warts. The vaccine must be taken in three doses in order for it to work correctly. People tend to think giving this vaccine to girls between 11 and 12 is too young. It has caused some controversy.
