- NGO’s must work with disabled women to help them develop and contribute their expertise and skills.

- The women’s community should not overlook women with disabilities as they bring useful resources to the table and should be included in the women’s movement.

- Women with disabilities should be recognized and be seen as an important issue. Often when they have workshops that focus only on women with disabilities few people show up whereas when they have workshops that include other issues the attendance is higher.

- Sowing the Seeds conference organized by DAWN in May 2006, addressed the issue of women with disabilities and pointed out their disadvantages economically, socially, legally and politically. Its purpose was to end the isolation and exclusion that woman with disabilities faced and assist them to be included and build relationships in the community.

- The cut and lack of funding in social programs has resulted in increased exclusion of women with disabilities all across Canada.

- Funding has been a key issue for DAWN Canada however they still do as much work as possible to ensure equality rights for women with disabilities across Canada.
