Macbeth Theme Essay

When someone’s power goes unchecked they will be able to do whatever they want with no opposition. This will then lead to a person in power having corrupt influence on people.  An example of where I have seen this is could be in my families’ villages in Africa. In African villages when head chiefs are in power they have the ability to make any law with no opposition this is unchecked power, and they can be in power for a long time. The problem with a person being in power for long periods of time is that they will refuse to step down and this will lead to someone have corrupt influence on people, village, and a nation due to unchecked power.

In society today there are plenty of examples of corrupting influence of unchecked power. People in Libya have started revolts because of his harsh ways of rule and policies. For his actions the Libyan people are not the people trying to get him out of power: the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) launched air strikes on the Gadhafi compound to propel him to step down and in the attacks his son Saif al Arab was blown up in the air strike.

In Macbeth the theme of the corrupting influence of unchecked power is seen after Macbeth and Lady Macbeth find out that Macbeth was going to become the king of Scotland. There are a lot of examples in this play of how characters saying things in this play that relate to the theme of the corrupting influence of unchecked power. ...
