  “Credit Cards For College Students”

 

Every year colleges allow credit card companies to come in their campuses and sucker vulnerable kids into committing to their companies card without knowing the risks they could actually be taking. These credit card companies come in stating how much easier life can be with their card. Truth is there are many risks that go into these credit cards that the companies fail to tell the student, which ultimately ends up putting the student into debt. Many of these kids work all summer to make money for the year, either for school payments, or just extra cash for life on campus.

Kids every year come into school with their minds open, and a willingness to learn. With all the assignments, tests, and homework it’s next to impossible to even think of finding time to work. So how hard is it to work while in college? Well with a full on campus schedule your day is consumed by about five to six hours of class time. With homework it can range anywhere from an hour to about six, unless there is an assignment that is truly troubling and will take even longer. Now I'm not saying everyday will take this long, but the fact your schedule will fluctuate so much will turn an employer away from you since there schedules are set in stone for usually two week increments.

It was often unheard for credit card companies to give out unsecured credit cards to people with no credit history. Seeing as how college students generally make a million more dollars over a life time gives them this false pretense that they can repay it even though they have no idea of the commitment or obligation there making. When the company builds a relationship with an often up and coming college student they leave the option to cross-sell for other products. With these numbers in college the students favor they tend to bring in a lot more money and parents or family members have money to bail them out.
