Critical Thinking

Capstone Checkpoint;

In the future, how will thinking critically influence the way you read, write and process?

Since I have started taking this course and online classes I have noticed that I am more aware of what I am reading. I guess one could say I am learning to read between the lines. Before I was trained to speed read and just pick out certain sections that caught my attention. I still believe one can speed read but with a more open concept or process of really paying attention (reading between the lines). I do know we all read at a different level and for me I have always had a difficult time because I have such poor eyesight, but then I have noticed a change in my eyesight since I have started reading more. I believe I am learning to examine what I read better and with a more open mind.

When it comes to writing I believe I am becoming more aware of the way in which I put things onto paper. I notice I ask myself questions like how does this sound, am I using proper language and tone, if my grammar is correct, or do I make my point clear enough without a fending someone. It is giving me help on how I support my ideals or arguments.

I believe the way in which I am learning to process what I read and write is the key to how I see or hear things. I am learning to be more objective by looking at all points before passing judgment. I will evaluate without being bias or prejudice and know that facts can be facts but it is the way each person interprets them that counts.

Why and how could you apply critical thinking when evaluating each of the following articles, advertising, media, and conversation?

I think it is a process in which I would determine the facts without prejudice and bias by putting them in a fashion that I can understand.
