Various technologies, in addition to changing our society and the world we live in, have withstood the test of time to evolve into something that is used by its many inhabitants and future descendants. One such technology, hybrid vehicle technology, has shown time and time again that a great idea will prevail through its various struggles no matter what the opposition. This report however shows the not only the groundbreaking revolutions brought about by this technology over time but also its intricate relation to the country known as Japan and while this specific technology was not first created in Japan, they were the first to bring about many of its modern day by-products. The purpose of this report is to inform about Japan, the technology and its history, the impacts that has been brought about its creation, and the ethical and moral issues generated because of it.

The Government

Since 710 BC, Japan has been governed by a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government. The current emperor of Japan is said to be a direct descendant of the ancient founder of Japan known as “Emperor Jimmu” (U.S. Department of, 2010).While the Emperor of Japan is the title of the current leader of Japan, he does not act as Head of Government. The current head of government is Prime Minister Naoto KAN and chief of state is Emperor AKIHITO (U.S. Central Intelligence, 2011). In a government such as this, the separation of powers is often blurred as while the position of Head of government is appointed by the Emperor, the position has to be designated by Diet.
