            A sixteen year old girl repeatedly raped now lives with the nightmare of being impregnated by her attacker. Faced with the possibility of living the rest of her life with an unwanted child and seeing the product of an act that brought her so much pain and suffering, she decides to end a part of her internal torture by exercising her right to having an abortion. Something that if not taken care of would change her life forever. Should this sixteen year old girl lose her teenage years and struggle with raising a child because, she couldn't have an abortion? Across the Nation many women of all ages are either thinking about getting an abortion, or knows someone who has had the procedure themselves. If a woman feels that she has substantial reason to get an abortion she should have the ability to do so without ridicule from society. Women have the right given by the American constitution to decide the course of their life.

            Women should be able to have an abortion if so desired. Nobody knows what that person could be going through or why that have made their decision. Statistics show that 1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest, 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons. The high school student who became pregnant after she was raped, should be able to have the option to have an abortion. No one knows how she feels, or why she chose to get an abortion. Having to look into the face of your rapist every moment of that child's life can be unbearable. Although it is not the child's fault, the mother should not have to live with that.

            Why is it that people aren't as controversial when a woman takes a "morning after pill" than when she "has an abortion procedure"? When you think about abortion you think about getting rid of a living creature, but I believe life begins through the heart. Studies...
