ASSIGNMENT: ELEVATOR SPEECH

Narrarator (ME): Last week I called my mother on the telephone as I havent spoken to her in 2 weeks.

Mom: Whats been going on ?

Me: Nothing much I started online classes at Axia College

Mom: Online Classes? How exactly does that work?

Me: Well mom basically I log on to the website and go into the class forum

Mom: What is a class forum

Me: Basically its an online classroom where everyone meets up and checks in and chats

Mom: Sounds cool , so what else about this online classroom, how do you get assignments and how do you get a lecture?

Me: Well the thing about online classrooms is that you have to learn yourself everything is up to you to read and comprehend of course if you have questions you can email your professor . As far as assignments we have something called threaded discussions where the prof can post a thread and we reply to him .

Mom: This online thing sounds interesting, so do you and your other classmates have a set time to be online?

Me: No mom not at all we get online at different times its called asynchronous communication . before you say anything I didnt know what it was until i started axia

Mom: It sounds very interesting. Im sure you will do well . Do you find it hard to get back into the school work

Me: No not really I take it one day at a time and try my best thats all you can do ,besides we get feedback from the prof after every assignment.

Mom: So is graduation online too

Me: Probably who knows , we are getting ahead of ourselves let me just pass this semester

Mom: Well I am glad your back in school , Good to hear your doing well . I love you and please dont let it be 2 weeks before I speak with you again

Me: I sure wont Mom ..Love you
