Upon receiving this assignment I did not have a clue of how to approach it. Therefore I am going to take the scenario below and attempt to design and conduct an experiment using the Scientific Method. The scenario begins with noticing the lawn around my house which is brown, short and dead. Opposed to my neighbors lawn which is green, tall and very much alive. There is nothing more beautiful than a well kept lawn around your home. This will not only attract others but it says a lot about the person that resides on the property.

In the beginning of this I attempted to gather some information about this problem. In the scenario there was a great concern about the up keep of my lawn. After further observation of the scenario I noticed that my grass did not look like my neighbors and the question was “What are the challenges with my grass and how am I going to fix it?”

After recognizing the question and the problem and attempting visualize it. It was time for question 2 the hypothesis which is the explanation that is given after the experiment is tested. During my hypothesis the problems that existed in my experiment were maintaining the soil, fertilizer and inadequate or to much water. With this hypothesis well under way I am now ready to put the next Scientific Method to work.

The key to improving a great looking lawn is consistency. My plan is to watch the grass for at least 6 to 8 weeks. During this time I will make it my business to fertilize water and provide preventive maintenance on time. On a weekly basis I will gather to determine if my hypothesis was right or wrong. (“Scientific Method,”2006). After careful observation I saw a few changes in my lawn compared to my neighbors. The grass that was once unattractive was now beginning to look a whole lot better. The grass that was brown is now green and a lot taller from the last observation.

Now it is time for me to analyze the data the information that I received from the hypothesis...
