To create a different header on the title page from the rest of the document, go to insert, header and at the bottom of the pop up page you will see an option for edit header. Go to the Design tab, and click the block that says “Different from first page.” This will allow you to include “Running Head:” on the title page only.

Abstract
The intent of this paper is to present a short overview of the four functions of management and their applicability in a business setting. In addition, this paper will demonstrate how the four functions of management are used in the writer’s organization.
An Abstract should be no more than 120 words.
Functions of Management
(Title/Introduction is not considered Level I heading, therefore, it is not bolded)
Some managers are particularly interested in, devoted to, or skilled in, one or more of the four functions of management. However, to often some managers are deficient in a particular area, regarding the four functions of management. The manager who does not devote adequate attention and resources to all four functions will fail. You can be a skilled planner and controller, but if you organize your people improperly or fail to inspire them to perform at high levels, you will not be an effective manager. Likewise, it does no good to be the kind of manager who loves to organize and lead, but who doesn’t really understand where to go or how to determine whether you are on the right track. Good managers don’t neglect any of the four management functions
(Bateman & Snell, 2003). This paper will provide a short overview of how each of the four functions of management applies to the writer’s organization.

1. Planning – analyzing the situation, setting the goals to pursue, and deciding on the actions to take,
