HEALTHY EATING PLAN COMPARISON
The United States of America is one of the unhealthiest if not the number one unhealthiest country in the
world. There are a number of people who are obese due to unhealthy eating and not excersing. The
unhealthy eating leads to numerous of diseases that are related to unhealthy eating. People in this
country tends to eat alot of junk foods and not enough of foods that are healthy. Most people eat on the go
because it is convenient to their schedules instead of cooking healthy meals. Not only that the number of
children with obesity is increasing as well. This is due to unhealthy eating and not getting enough
exercise as well. Kids these days tend to stay in the house and playing video games, not to mention the
unhealthy meals they are eating from fast food restaurants such as happy meals.
In week one we were asked to complete a food diary checkpoint from the pyramid tracker that
gave us results on how well we were eating and consuming food from the food groups. And then we were
asked to complete the diary a second time for this exercise to see how our habits had changed of any.
The food groups are dairy, meats and beans, vegetables, fruit and grains. When I completed the food
diary in week one the results showed that I had consumed 1.9 cups of dairy, 12.2 ounces of meats and
beans, 1.6 cups of vegetables, 2.6 cups of fruit, and 7.9 ounces of grains. Being that I have a busy
schedule, I never really pay attention to what I eat and how I eat of the things I do eat. I never think about
what I am intaking and if I am intaking all the foods I need to ensure a healthy lifestyle. Nutrition is a very
important part of healthy living and keeping our bodies healthy and clean as well.
