1. What are the different forms of social media that exist today? Provide examples of different social media and their primary purposes.

There are several different forms of social media, they provide many different actions. These forms are as follows:

Blogging- Permits the creation of domains to put up self-made information in many forms and topics for viewing publicly or privately. Many of these may consist of product reviews, news, music and much more.

Event Updates- This type of social media provides people an interface to purchase tickets and possibly enable travel arrangements to certain social events.

Social Networking- MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter are just a few social networking sites that permit communication and the transfer of photos and video between individuals. This may also be used for businesses and social events on a website. Social networking type has many purposes and uses that can enable both people and businesses.

Emailing/Chatting- This has taken the place of writing letters and telegrams. Time and again, emailing and chatting are a way to get information instantaneously to and from individuals or groups. Usually, this media’s functions are for businesses’ and individuals to communicate messages or transfer documents and pictures.

News Updates- News channels creates his or her own websites to offer daily local, national, and worldwide news.

Photo/Video Sharing- Users often use this media to upload photos and videos taken to share publicly or privately with others.

Music and Radio- The capabilities have come far with the live streaming of the online radios along with several music sites that offer downloadable music to make cd’s, apply to MP3 or IPODs.

Gaming- There are many websites that offer “free to access” gaming. These games are of many varieties and played alone or with...
