Reflection Paper on Assessment

I assessed my brother, a 3-year-old child who is about to attend school in the next school year. He is still unable to talk straight but it’s easy to understand what he is trying to say. He can say some words properly or even phrases like “What’s this?” and “Talk to the hand”. It’s weird that he knows the “talk to the hand” phrase but I think he heard it from my other brother. He’s very energetic but tends to get shy whenever there are people who are strangers to him around.

He can recite the alphabet from A to P only and he can’t recite it without singing the ABC song. He is not yet familiar with the community signs and is still unable to point out where the locations of objects are. He doesn’t know how to read and write yet. I look forward to assessing him again after a year or two of preschool.

Reflection Paper on Assessment

For ECEDMAT I assessed the same child. He is my brother, a 3-year-old child who is about to attend school in the next school year. Like what I’ve said in the other paper, he’s very energetic but tends to get shy whenever there are people who are strangers to him around.

He is able to count from 1-13 but sometimes he doesn’t include 13. He still doesn’t know the concept of adding and subtracting. He is not yet able to tell time and measure things. He can’t match the number to the corresponding quantity.
