Using the critical thinking skills you have gained and the materials provided for this assignment, identify two possible strategies that Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams, or both, likely used to develop and improve his thinking prior to taking a stand and acting according to his beliefs?

It would have been important for Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams to develop and improve their thinking in order to come to the best conclusion to the issues they were facing. Evaluating the various solutions is a strategy that they may have used prior to taking a stand. This strategy would include identifying the problem to produce an assortment of ideas, evaluating and refining any ideas they had to reach the best possible solution. Another strategy would be to express the problem or issue. Thomas Hutchinson has to find the best solution while making sure he was able to view many perspectives. Once he did this it allowed him to critically decide from a number of ideas the best solution.

2. Explain the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking when evaluating historical events such as the Boston Tea Party.

Building a foundation for critical and creative thinking, when evaluating any historical event is important because the ideas about free will, truth, knowledge, opinion, and debating moral issues that we have can sometimes enhance or hinder our thinking. Knowing how to sort out the differences between these conflicting ideas will help us to able to think critically. When talking about any historical event, like the Boston Tea Party, it is beneficial that we can restructure our way of thinking, after new ideas, evidence, arise.
