Abstract

Mark Anderton is a 46 year-old vice president looking to advance in his company and become a Senior Vice President. He believes he possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to lead a team to be very successful, which will help the company be more successful as they try to continue their capture market share within the ladder industry.

Perfect Position in the Organization

Mark Anderton is a 46 year-old vice president of government sales at Wing Enterprises Inc. His company has just patented another 22 ladder products leading the ladder industry in quality, innovation, and safety. The company is expanding to keep up with new growth and success. The company has created new positions allowing current employees to apply for an advancement position within the corporation. Many positions that have come available reside in sales. Mark is seeking to move up into a senior vice president of sales position to bolster the company’s sales force contribution and profit margin. He has taken some leadership assessments that he will use to help evaluate what type of leader he can, and he will also compare and contrast the leadership theories he has learned about to see if any of those theories are relevant to his leadership style.

Beneficial Role

Mark’s first assessment was his leadership style assessment in which he scored an eight for people-oriented leading and a 12 for task oriented leading.
