There are a lot of problems and issues presented in the Decisions in Paradise Scenario. Many issues include: the location of Kava is very prone to natural disasters; some of the residents of Kava do not get along and main character Nik, has become part of a company that wants to establish a greater presence in Kava. There are three key reasons that the company wasn’t to expand in Kava are: One, the effects that take place in Kava affects the company back in the United States. Two, the founder of the company Chris Morales, is driven by the commitment to doing what is right, not by government or recognition but because it is the right thing to do, and third the governments of Kava along with other organizations are asking that the company brings American culture to Kava.

A good start to figure out the decision-making style most suitable for this scenario’s problems, would begin with identifying the problems, isolate those problems and then explain the objectives. Next, evaluate what the problem is causing to happen then consider alternative solutions and the outcomes. After, choose and implement a solution then measure and analyze its impact.

After identifying these problems, a suitable decision-making style would be rational decision-making. Rational decision making consists of sequential steps that are structured and designed to develop a suitable solution. To reach a solution, rational decision-making takes steps that progress from the identification of problems and opportunities and comparing them to the alternatives preferred. Considering that the founder of the company wants to do what is right and promotes goodwill, to aid in this approach, a principle assumption of the rational decision-making style it that it is human nature to make rational decisions.
