THE CHUBB GROUP OF INSURANCE COMPANIES

What do you think about when you hear the name The Chubb Group? Well, if you are affiliated with this company in any way, you may think of security, integrity, fairness and complete satisfaction. However, if you have never heard the name The Chubb Group, then these descriptions mean nothing, but I believe that once I finish my presentation of this company, it will be a name that you will not soon forget.

For more than 125 years, Chubb & Sons, a division of Federal Insurance Company has been delivering exceptional property and casualty insurance products and services to businesses and individuals around the world.

Chubb & Son (currently traded as The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies – CB/NYSE) was founded in the spring of 1882 by Thomas Caldecot Chubb and his oldest son Percy Chubb. The company commenced from very humble beginnings, but from the outset, their motto has never been focused on size, but rather that the company was providing their customers with the best available product and service that was second to none. Hendon Chubb, the younger brother to Percy Chubb, joined the company in 1895, and he brought a fresh perspective to the table. His motto of “never compromising integrity” has carried on within the company from years past, and into recent years, and will continue on as a staple of the Chubb culture. The Chubb Group is a publicly traded Property, Casualty and Specialty Insurance carrier.

The insurance industry as a whole is typically not held in high regard with consumers; however, Chubb has worked diligently to change the perception of their current customers, and any prospective customers by pushing the envelope in the industry and challenging the rest of the field to fall in line. Unlike most other carriers (State Farm, Allstate, Geico, Erie, AIG-Auto, USAA) Chubb is not a direct buy company; they rely exclusively on their established relationships with their agents and brokers to...
