“Organizational and HRD Climate in BHEL” by P. Murali Krishna and P. Subba Rao

What questions/ issues are the authors trying to address? How important are they? Why?

The title of the article itself says all about the key issue of the article that is “Organizational and HRD climate in B.H.E.L.” The authors have very clearly mentioned the importance of good and congenial organizational climate as well as HRD climate and its effectiveness in any organization with a touch in the climate of a public sector company in India. The central issue of the article is about the need to maintain a healthy and supportive climate in an organization to operate in a smooth way and enhance productivity. The article also tries to view the organizational and HRD climate at BHEL as perceived by its members. The issue that has been raised in the article is of great importance since all the activities, functions, policies and procedures revolve around the climate of the organization. Organizational climate is a part of a work environment which acts as a stimulant to perform better and deal with the tasks and situations with a positive attitude. The performance of the employee highly depends upon the ability, motivation and the work environment. The work environment plays a vital role to utilize the ability and to mould ones’ attitude and behavior towards the work/job. A supportive and favorable organizational climate ensures determination and commitment from its employees to perform better.
