Regression

The regression statistics is a process used to predict the value of one variable given the values of the others. It is a process used to determine a line, curve the description of that line, or curve trend of a data set. It is a method of estimating the conditional expected value of one variable y given the values of some other variable or variables x. Throughout the past few weeks we have examined the Hypothesis part of static research. Week two was the Two or More sample hypothesis testing, and in week three Nonparametric Hypothesis testing. This week’s assignment will deal with the regression analysis of Team A’s hypothesis statement. Our hypothesis was formed and tested with linear regression analysis and the collected data results are described below in details.

When it comes to determining wages in the workforce of society today education plays a major role, and is usually one of the main determiners when an employer is ready to hire a new employee. The majority of those who do not have a high school diploma or very little education will usually make considerably less money than those with a high school diploma and those who have degrees such as bachelors or a masters degree will make usually even more. Individuals planning their futures will want to know what their wages will be and one way of determining their wages will be from the education received, usually the higher the degree of education the higher the pay.

Hypothesis Statement

In a study conducted by team A from University of Phoenix students website, one hundred working adults were surveyed on how many years of experience they had, how many years of education they had, and what their annual salary is. Team A conducted research based on information provided by the data link that will support and analyze data that indicates the age old debate that questions the following: Do wage earners with a four year degree earn more than $30,000 on average than a wage earner...
