Trust: What is it?

It is the most difficult thing to obtain yet the most facile thing to lose. It is trust alone that has the power to make or break a relationship. Also, it is trust that is hard to give but extremely desirable to everyone. It means more than simply believing something a person says. It is the reliance on the integrity of a person and believing them, despite any circumstances, with every fiber of your being. Trust, working hand in hand with faith, can either start dilemmas or act as glue in relationships.

Trust is the glue of every relationship. Without trust, in any type of relationship, a desolate void will exist eventually causing everything to fall apart. Like a house with no foundation, a relationship will easily come crashing down with an absence of trust. For example, when an ex-boyfriend cheated on me and lied about it, not only did I lose all respect for him, but I lost every ounce of trust I instilled in our relationship. Though we tried to make things work, things you never be the same and shortly after coming to that realization, we decided to break up. However, while trust can help keep relationships together, it is also the start of most dilemmas.

Trust is the start of most dilemmas. Trusting someone blindly can result in terrible situations. Putting trust in someone can lead you up a hill, send you sliding down a slope or place you at a cross roads. For instance, in Cyrano de Bergerac, the screenplay, Christian, a young, handsome and mildly clueless boy trusts Cyrano, a witty, deft, poetic lover to write to the love of his life, Roxane. Though Cyrano offered to composer beautiful love letters for Christian to send to Roxane, Christian was too naïve to see that Cyrano himself was in love with her. This complicated trust Christian had in Cyrano led them both into a whirlwind of difficulties when Christian tries to force Roxane to choose either himself of Cyrano. Predicaments are started mainly by two things- trust and faith....
