INTRODUCTION

An organization, which I have chosen in my assignment, is Toyota motors because of its effective operations management. Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturing company in the world and it was established in 1933.it is also well-known in making passenger buses as well as high quality sports car and it was awarded by quality control in 1980s. in order to improve the quality of products and based on company’s philosophy of “customer first” company test their products in various way like, low and high temperature durability test, rough and flooded road durability test and crash test on the glass pit.

(A)Roles and importance of operation management:

Operation management may be defined as the total set of managerial activities employed by the organization to transform resource inputs into produces outputs of goods and services needed by customers.

There are three main basic function must be performed in order to produce a finished product (1)storing the row materials(2)scheduling the utilization of these materials(3)creating successfully finished goods with the transformational process. The major roles of operation management are discussed below in detail;

▪ the key role of operation management is to make a good profit, to produce good quality product and service in order to fulfill customer demand and make a impressive reputation in market, service after sales, good returns to stakeholders and get positive feedback from the customers.

▪Implementing business strategy: - strategy is indescribable and it’s generally starts as a statement of purpose and comes in form of decision and according to that decision actions are taken. It is essential for operation manager to meet organizational goal and its business strategy. Therefore effectiveness and efficiency of any of the organization depends on operation management.
